The summer of 2020 pandemic prevented us from seeing our extended family. We were feeling trapped and there was so much unknown. I painted this from a photo I took on a visit to one of my favorite cities, Charleston, SC. This strong horse is pulling a heavy weight (a carriage), and looks tired and disheartened. The blue falling from the sky is the grace that would soon come.
