Who doesn’t love hydrangeas? I’ve always struggled to grow them in my backyard. The sun, the watering and the deer have all worked against me. Painting, each hydrangea in an orderly way, one after the other, allowed me to capture this beautiful flower that has been so far out of reach for me. Rather than an organic bouquet, it’s modern design highlights each blossom in an orderly grid. The repetition is peaceful.
